Care guide
Care guide
At Some Sun® we're all about keeping clothing for as long as possible, which is why we're always looking at care labels and making sure our garments are cleaned in the way that helps them to last.
We'll answer the most important questions about how to care for your sun protection clothing.
How should I launder my Some Sun® sun protection?
Always review the Care Label on the inside of your garment for specific directions. Generally, we recommend using a gentle cycle with cold water. Cold water minimizes fiber stretching and helps preserve the fabric’s UPF properties.
How long does sun protection clothing last?
UPF clothing that is properly cared for will last for the lifetime of the garment. Generally speaking, it is a good idea to replace UPF attire every 1 to 2 years if worn frequently, or if the garment fabric is thinning or piling. Our attire can be worn for non-UPF uses, which means it can last and be used longer than most UPF clothing. With excellent care, our garments should last decades.
In summary, it's a good habit to replace sun protective clothing every two years to ensure that normal wear and tear has not diminished the sun protection properties of the clothing.
Don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.
