A little more on what we do

Our Mission

We want to end prevalence of preventable skin cancer by creating sun protective attire you will look forward to wearing every day.

Why We Exist

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S., with more than 5 million cases diagnosed every year (Skin Cancer Foundation). Most of this damage is caused by preventable UV exposure, and over 90% of nonmelanoma skin cancers are associated with exposure to UV radiation from the sun.

We believe that protecting your skin should feel as natural as getting dressed each morning. That’s why we create UPF-certified clothing that doesn’t sacrifice style, comfort, or wearability.

What Makes Us Different

Unlike most sun protection clothing that’s designed for sport or the beach, our pieces are thoughtfully made to blend into your everyday wardrobe.

  • Premium fabrics and design that feel as good as they perform
  • Flattering fits and timeless silhouettes for versatility and to match your aesthetic
  • Protection you don’t have to think twice about

We’re building a new kind of sun protection—elevated, effortless, and effective. For the days in the sun, and every day in between.

What do we believe?

Clothing should have minimal negative impacts on the Earth and people.

With our founder's background in sustainable fabric and apparel development, Some Sun is focused on reducing environmental impacts as much as possible through more sustainable material use (e.g. recycled materials and fabric) and we carefully select our vendors and partners.

Clothing of any kind should be made to last as long as possible.

We source high quality fabric, ensure our garments are well made and have a fair price point to match quality, and look to source and manufacture in the USA whenever possible.

Protect your skin and marine life.
