About Some Sun
Sun protection, simplified.
Some Sun was created around the concept protecting your skin shouldn't require a complicated routine or a wardrobe you don't love.
My dad was diagnosed with melanoma when I was in my early twenties, making sun protection a priority for me. Later, after developing an allergy to chemical sunscreen, I turned to UPF clothing more heavily—but found that most options were technical and utilitarian, designed for function rather than the way I actually wanted to live and dress.
Why couldn't sun-protective clothing be beautiful, comfortable, and easy to live in?
SCIENCE. DESIGN. BETTER MATERIALS.
That question brought together the different parts of my background.
I started my career in biochemistry, where I developed a love of science and materials. I later led sustainable fibers at Calvin Klein, deepening my understanding of textiles, performance, design, and more responsible material choices.
I created Some Sun to solve a problem I couldn't find a good answer to: how to make UPF 50+ clothing that feels as considered, comfortable, and beautiful as the clothes you already love—so protecting your skin becomes part of getting dressed, not another thing to think about.
