At Some Sun® we're all about keeping clothing for as long as possible, which is why we're always looking at care labels and making sure our garments are cleaned in the way that helps them to last.
How should you care for your Some Sun® clothing? And how long does sun protection clothing last?
Firstly, we always recommend reading the care label on the garment, which will provide specific instructions and washing and drying. In following those instructions it will ensure your garment will last longer.
Generally speaking, washing clothing in cold water, and hang drying, or drying on low heat or low dry settings will keep your garment from rapidly degrading.
Typically, UPF clothing that is properly cared for will last for the lifetime of the garment, unless its UPF properties are from a fabric wash that adds the UPF factor. In those cases, the UPF properties with last 30-40 washes or approximately 1 to 2 years.
Overall, it's a good habit to replace sun protective clothing every two years to ensure that normal wear and tear has not diminished the sun protection properties of the clothing. Don't take chances when it comes to skin health!

It has a snug fit which I like, bc I can just wear it as a top with a sports bra under. The fabric is nice and soft.. wish more colors were available!
This is really the best upf shirt ever. I am very sensitive to the poly fabrics that upf shirts are made from, and this has a very nice hand feel; not polyester feeling at all. I only wish there was a s/m option, although I am size 8 and the xs/s fit very cute. Taking in my vacation .
I love the shirt, it looks like normal white button up. It goes with a ton of outfits too. Worn it for walks in the neighborhood and even on a hike and it’s been great. Does a great job of keeping the sun without having to slather on sunscreen . It’s easy to keep clean and low maintenance to take care of. Def wear your usual size; the oversized fit is quite generous.
The hyper crop makes it the first rashguard I’ve worn that’s cute and I love that i can wear it on my walks too. Fabric is great
This shirt is so soft and will be a great accessory for the summer months. Can’t wait to wear it! Normally a L/XL and the M/L still gives an oversized fit.

I recently bought The Maro prior to a week-long beach vacation, and it was the perfect travel companion! I ended up not wearing any of the other shirts I brought because The Maro fit all my needs. It is so versatile - I loved how I could slip into it after surfing or swimming and just wear it open on my bathing suit, or tie it around my waist with a cute pair of shorts, or roll up the sleeves... It feels both casual and chic at the same time. I wore it to go on long walks on the beach every day - it was so convenient to not have to cover myself in sunscreen. I didn't get sunburned a single time! The fabric feels super airy and breathable and soft. I am obsessed! I recommend this shirt to all beach lovers, swimmers, and surfers!
I am loving its oversized fit. the length is perfect for the beach as a swimsuit cover up or for wearing into town with shorts as a summer set. I can wear all day without getting a sunburn... obsessed! buying in the other color too
